Congratulations to the entire Professors Emeriti Class of 2012! Special congrats to my former colleagues and friends from the Communications Dept., Delia P. and Sharon S. Retirement is great, right!!!
Dr. Wortock was my last professor in the college of nursing when it was still SPJC. She was a wonderful instructor and a great inspiration. Thanks to her and the many other wonderful instructors I had, I have gone on to earn my BSN and now am working towards my A.R.N.P. I hope one day I can be an inspiration to others as much as she was to me in my career. Congratulations on this great honor Dr. Wortock!
Hello Keith – thank you so much for your very kind words! I was honored to have you as a student! Thank you for sharing that SPJC gave you a great start – and with that start you are advancing your nursing career! You and your post are an inspiration to me!
I am very proud of you – and feel blessed that I was able to teach at SPJC now SPC. I am truly honored to receive Professor Emeritus status – and offer my congratulations to all my colleagues who received the award this morning.
Jean Wortock
June and Sunny congratulations! You both deserve it.
Congratulations to Steve Meier. I never took his class in Economics, but he was the advisor for Phi Theta Kappa for the first year of my involvement there and that was his last year as our advisor. I’m honored to be the first recipient of a Gibbs campus award named after him. He is a wonderful and enigmatic individual and I’m glad I got to see him receive recognition for his tireless dedication to PTK Eta Nu chapter at the International Convention in Nashville this year. Way to go, Mr. Meier!
Congratulations to our Professors Emeriti! You have been an inspiration to students and your colleagues.
Dr. Gloria East,
It is with great honor and sincere pleasure that I pay tribute to you for your contributions as an educator… This “Professors Emeriti 2012 Award” confirms and illuminates all the more, your “God Given Gifts and Talents” and the HEART of a “True Educator,” one who not only seeks to educate the mind, but also empowers the soul and up-lifts the spirit of an individual…
You have continuously modeled before US ALL, strong leadership and superior professionalism in all that you’ve done. But, more importantly, YOU HAVE DONE IT with GRACE and ELEGANCE as an African American Woman.
I applauded you for your unwavering faith, strength, character and integrity… You have been a great friend, supporter, encourager and role model to me and for that, I am grateful. May the legacy you’ve laid be continuously built upon by future generations…
From The Heart, “Yah-Tay”
