Ms. Hicks joined the College of Nursing faculty at St. Petersburg College in 2000 and over the years, taught many different Nursing courses.
Prior to her tenure at SPC, she worked as a nurse/midwife in Kenya serving as both a medical professional and a missionary throughout the country. She delivered more than 2,500 babies and provided nursing care and compassion to many.
Her master’s degree is from the Medical College of New York. She also is a certified midwife.
She retired in 2012 but returns to the College of Nursing each term to share her obstetric knowledge and midwife experiences with current Nursing students. She lives in Penny Farms, a small town outside Jacksonville.
