Dear Mr Ramsberger, my name is Nicole a name you’ve no doubt long forgotten, I was a student in your Political Science class wayyyy back in 198(4/5), not sure anymore, but that’s not important, what is important is the memories you left in my mind and the non text book lessons you taught me…. I hope you still call your wife Passion Flower, as a young lady sitting in your class I would hope that one day someone would light up for me the way you did when you spoke your passion flower…. everytime I finish a newspaper front to back I heart your voice saying when I person does this they are well read… you taught us in a way I’ll never forget, with compassion, grace and a love for your craft, I have never had a teacher since that was more engaging, funny, sincere and likeable… it’s been a long time and I just wanted you to know I remember you fondly, thanks for the impression…Nicole (the Canadian girl)
Gerry, I was a student of yours in either 1963 or 64 so I don’t understand why the bio only shows you at BCHS beginning in 1968. None the less, I can remember you as a teacher and I fully enjoyed your class. One of my best teachers. If you are ever in the mountains of the Carolinas be sure to look me up. Richard ware

ST. PETERSBURG —
To anyone who has ever come in contact with Gerry Ramsberger, they’ll tell you that you couldn’t find a better man.
I got to know him when he ran the Tampa Bay Rays’ press box for the first 10 years of the franchise’s exsistence.
This Friday at 4 p.m., the baseball fields at Boca Ciega High School will be renamed the Gerry Ramsberger Fields.
See, Gerry is a legend in St. Pete athletic circles. He coached and taught at Boca Ciega from 1956-68. He was also a teacher and coach in the first faculty at Northeast High School.
Gerry graduated from Notre Dame with a bachelor’s and master’s degree. He served in the European Theatre with the 293 Combat Engr. Bn., American 3rd Army 6 and has garnered all five of the European Battle Stars. While in the military, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.
I just know him as a warm, caring lovable guy. Boca Ciega is making a great move.
Former players and students of Gerry’s are encouraged to come out Friday to the dedication ceremony.
Gerry and I taught at SPJC for 30 years. I treasure the sound advice and happy times we shared in his office. He was always upbeat and had a great sense of humor. He was the real deal!
Hi Gerry,
I have wonderful memories of your class that you taught- State and Local Government in 1984-1987. You made the class fun and exciting…quite a feat for politics! All the best to you and your family.
